The Heart of the Matter
Yesterday there was a programme on TV called "Bodyshocks" that looked into the psychological impact of heart transplants. Many patients have experienced memories and even personality changes that may be caused as a result of heart transplants. Recent research has indicated that there is a neural connection between the heart and the brain (central nervous system). It is possible that some of our memory and consciousness may be stored in the heart as well as or in addition to the brain. This may be true in other parts of the body. Memories and personality traits of the donor occur over time in some recipients. This adds substance to 'feeling' in the heart.
Also, the heart as a pump and electromagnetic muscle generates 20-100 times more magnetic energy than the brain and this can be detected up to 6 feet away. This brings a whole new meaning to 'personal space'. In addition to this the energy patterns found in aura photographs and energy bodies seen and experienced through spiritual practice could be linked. It is nice to see science finding out what intuition has told us for generations (since early civilisation). Further research could concentrate on the process of memory and consciousness linked to the brain but stored in other parts of the body and what happens what purely artificial organs are used to replace real ones.
