Weird Birdsong

I woke up last Thursday at around 5am and birdsong outside sounded eeriliy unnatural. It cycled repeatedly across four different sounds each lasting 2 seconds. Sometimes there was a break and sometimes several cycles repeated exactly like the others. This sounded artificial as if I were hearing a machine. It continued for well over half an hour and sounded like one bird. If more than one then there would have been asymmetry to the sounds. I could not go back to sleep for that time.

This is like some reports of the eerie sounds sometimes heard in the jungle or countryside. Also, it felt like a jittering of reality somewhat akin to deja-vu (as seen in the Matrix).

Why are we so competitive?

What is happening to this country (and much of the richer world)? Everyone expects you to know everything for a specific job, have the same crap they do and act and behave in the same way. Conformity sucks. Yet it is so hard to find meaning in this life when money runs out and you are out of work and retraining is going to cost loads of money that I don't have.

We live in a society run by a government that takes more and more from people in taxes, pollutes the environment despite saying it is doing things to reduce this (creating Greenwash) and which seems to not care for anyone who has any new ideas regarding social structure, new energy or collaboration at all levels. The same goes for many companies.

Now we are faced with slimming marketing for men (money programme). I thought this was a no-brainer but apparently many middle aged men do not bother to diet. This is because of ingrained eating habits but I would certainly not engage in a diet plan if it means paying through the nose for food that does not satisfy properly.
